Offline campaigns and QR codes

With this feature you print a unique QR code on each pack, box or warranty card you sell. When a customer scans the code with their phone, a page of your website opens with the product name and the code's serial number, and asks for their name and phone number. Normally each code can be registered only once, so a code that has been used already, or that you never issued, is refused: this lets customers check that their pack is genuine, and gives you the contact details of the people who buy your products in shops, at fairs or through dealers.

An offline campaign is a banner and a short message shown on that page for a period you choose, for example "register your pack during our tasting week and get a free cup". Every registration made while a campaign is running is counted for that campaign.

Tasks

Before you start

The feature must be switched on with E commerce Scanning QRcode in Website Setting › Function Setting (see Choose your shop switches). Your role then needs the rows Offline Campaign, Scanning QRCode and Scanning Record ticked in Website Role (see Create a role); these rows are listed only while the switch is on. The three menus appear under E Commerce in the left menu.

Good to know

  • Scanning does not give members points or vouchers.
  • Dealers are members whose rank has Dealer Rank ticked (see Member ranks). A dealer has their own QR code; customers who buy from a dealer can scan it on the same page, so that the registration is credited to the dealer.
